Anton Jurgens Institute
Het Anton Jurgens institute stelt de ontwikkeling van (new) business in de voedingsmiddelensector centraal. New business komt tot stand door projectmatige samenwerking met voedingsmiddelen bedrijven. Hierbij wordt beschikbare hoogwaardige kennis uit de wetenschappelijke en onderzoek wereld en de praktische knowhow van de ontwikkeling en productie van gezonde voedingsmiddelen gecombineerd in de ontwikkeling van nieuwe hoogwaardige voedingsmiddelen.
Het Anton Jurgens Institute is een initiatief van de kennisinstellingen HAS Den Bosch en Wageningen UR en de bedrijven Cargill, Unilever, VION en BioxBiosciences.
New business development staat centraal in onze activiteiten:

• MBA "Business Creation in Food and Health" voor hoger opgeleiden werkzaam in de sector,
• Business creation projecten voor bedrijven/opdrachtgevers uit de voedingsmiddelen sector
• Master Clinics: multi disciplinaire netwerk activiteiten rondom actuele thema's.

Food Nutrition Delta
Op initiatief van Nederlands bedrijfsleven en kennisinstellingen is, in dialoog met de ministeries van Economische Zaken en Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit, het innovatieprogramma Food & Nutrition Delta (FND) opgezet. Het FND-programma, dat is gericht op het 'post-harvest' deel van de industrieketen, bestaat uit twee fasen (TIFN en FND fase 2) en heeft als doel om van Nederland de leidende food & nutrition innovatie regio te maken. Het innovatieprogramma FND fase 2 wordt uitgevoerd door de Stichting Food & Nutrition Delta in dialoog met het Ministerie van Economische Zaken. Binnen de muren van het WesterToren Innovation Centre is een loket aanwezig voor dit programma.

Lead Pharma Food
Lead Pharma Holding BV. (LPH) has the ownership of unique and highly representative human cell models, derived from heart restricted progenitor cells. Using unique procedures, the human cardiac progenitor cells are differentiated into adult cardiomyocytes, endothelia, vascular smooth muscle cells or other human cell types. These adult human cell models are used as a screening device and validation tool to identify chemical structures and food ingredients that Lead Pharma will develop into medicine against chronic heart failure.

Neurophyxia
Neurophyxia is an innovative drug development company which focuses on disorders affecting the newborn baby. The lead product addresses the devastating effects of oxygen shortage at birth (perinatal asphyxia). Neurophyxia is a spin-off of the University Medical Centre Utrecht in the Netherlands. For over a decade much high standing research has been performed to unravel the mechanisms responsible for brain damage after a period of hypoxic ischemia (i.e. shortage of blood flow combined with low oxygen content in blood). This research has led to the discovery of at least one very promising compound which will be developed to a promising neuroprotective strategy to help newborn babies suffering from perinatal asphyxia. Neurophyxia will extend its portfolio in the near future to other disorders of the newborn.

VitrOmics develops predictive toxicological knowledge for the early screening of pharmaceutical drug candidates. The necessary knowledge is obtained by toxicogenomics investigations in vitro using human cells.

PlantLab BV
PlantLab is ontwikkelaar van innovatieve plantengroeiconcepten. Aan de basis van deze concepten staan unieke wiskundige predictiemodellen, die exacte planning en regie van plantaardige productieprocessen mogelijk maken, zodat oogstmoment, oogstomvang en productkwaliteit strak kunnen worden geregisseerd en een optimale aansluiting tussen productie en marktvraag ontstaat. Nadat PlantLab in 2006 de haalbaarheid van het telen in volledig geconditioneerde ruimten zonder daglicht aantoonde en vervolgens patenteerde, zette zij in rap tempo de vervolgstappen, die leiden tot een nieuwe visie op plantaardige productie. De thuisbasis van PlantLab is het nieuwe Center for Growing Concepts op de Hogeschool HAS in Den Bosch. Dit hypermoderne door PlantLab ontwikkelde research center omvat 8 klimaatcellen waarin tegelijkertijd plantaardig onderzoek kan worden verricht onder 56 verschillende combinaties van omgevingsfactoren.
